A distinctive feature of this men's luxury watch is the unidirectional rotating diving lunette equipped with a sapphire insert with luminescent elements. At the heart of the Longines Ultra-Chron is the impressive calibre L836.6, the latest high-frequency movement developed by Longines. This technology has deep roots in the brand's portfolio - the company introduced the first such movement in 1914, when it was able to measure time to within 1/10th of a second. Two years later, in 1916, the brand pushed the precision boundaries even further to an astonishing 1/100th of a second.
From the groundbreaking year of 1959, Longines began incorporating these high-precision movements into wristwatches as well, making a significant contribution to the development of more accurate timekeeping. The current Ultra-Chron model continues this tradition and offers exceptional precision, which is officially confirmed by the prestigious chronometer certification from the specialized TIMELAB testing laboratory based in Geneva.
The high-frequency movement vibrates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), significantly higher than the standard 28,800 vibrations. This technological advance ensures exceptionally smooth operation of the seconds hand and, above all, greater timekeeping precision even when worn for long periods.
