Corum is one of the few watch brands that have made a real difference in the luxury watch industry. They have brought a welcome energy and creativity to an otherwise rather dull world. Its extravagant creations are united by four core values: technical innovation, watchmaking tradition, high-quality mechanics and aesthetic appeal. This makes Corum one of the manufacturers that will leave no watch lover indifferent.
Corum was founded thanks to the strong entrepreneurial spirit of René Bannwart, who gained his watchmaking experience with the most prestigious watchmakers. In 1955, together with Gaston Ries and Simon Ries, he founded a small factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Three years later, the trio managed to break into the watch industry and begin a successful journey that continues to this day.
The innovation and courage of Corum watches
Corum's strength lies in its ability to combine precision Swiss watchmaking with avant-garde design. Unlike many traditional luxury watch manufacturers, Corum is not afraid to experiment with unconventional materials, shapes and concepts.
This courage to bring truly innovative models to the market is why Corum watches have become a sought-after item for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate technical excellence as much as artistic expression.

The first successes that changed the watchmaking world
Several iconic watches were born in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The very first was the Golden Tube from 1957 and the equally legendary Chinese Hat, which arrived a year later. The inspiration for its design was truly creative: a conical hat made of straw, bamboo or leaves native to Southeast Asia. Such an unconventional look was, of course, rightly hailed as a great success.
It was followed by other models such as the Admiral's Cup watch from 1960 or the Coin Watch with its ultra-thin movement sandwiched between two genuine gold coins. These became popular with American presidents and notables, including Nobel Prize winners.
The legendary Corum Admiral's Cup watch was born
The Admiral's Cup collection represents one of the most important chapters in Corum's history. This luxury men's watch was first introduced in 1960 and quickly became synonymous with sporty elegance.
Today's Admiral's Cup models build on the rich heritage of the original, but add modern technological features. Swiss movements of the latest generation ensure precise timekeeping, while materials such as titanium, carbon fibre or special alloys guarantee durability and lightness.

Corum Golden Bridge: the watchmaking unique that surpassed all expectations
First produced in 1980, the Golden Bridge watch has left a lasting mark on the history of watchmaking. The genius behind this fabulous model with its hand-wound 18k gold dial was the watchmaker Vincent Calabrese.
He came up with the idea of creating a movement with linear gears and placing it in a transparent space with no visible connection. The impressive model was a masterpiece of micro-mechanics and required the utmost precision in craftsmanship, involving 85 working steps. The watch was an instant hit with watch connoisseurs and collectors alike, earning Corum the title of authentic watchmaking manufacture.
A new edition of the Golden Bridge model was introduced in 2005, followed by a Tourbillon version on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. The latest models offer a glimpse of the watch's sophisticated mechanical innards thanks to a sapphire crystal that allows you to admire the precision movement from all angles. This transparency is not just an aesthetic feature - it is a clear statement of the technological superiority and craftsmanship that the Corum brand represents.
The Golden Bridge Tourbillon then takes the concept even further by combining a linear movement with a tourbillon - one of the most challenging complications in watchmaking. This technical masterpiece represents the absolute pinnacle of luxury men's watches.
Corum Bubble revolutionised design
The Corum brand has always had a creative spirit, so it's no surprise that some very interesting, even extravagant models have also come out of its factory. One of them is the Feather watch, whose dial consists of real peacock feathers. This technical and artistic feat required enormous expertise. Equally legendary was the Météorite model made from a real meteorite.
One of the more recent creations is the Bubble watch, introduced in 2000. It features a thick sapphire crystal. The resulting magnifying glass effect has become their hallmark. The model saw its reintroduction in 2016 and is still sold today. Their creative and fun concept is attention-grabbing and smile-inducing.
Corum watches as a sought-after collector's item
Limited editions and technically unique Corum models often become sought-after collector's pieces whose value increases with time. For collectors and investors, they represent an interesting opportunity to diversify a portfolio of valuable assets.
The rarest models, such as the original Golden Bridge, the first Admiral's Cup or the limited Bubble series, often fetch several times their original price at auction. Thus, investing in a luxury Corum men's watch can be not only a pleasure for the eye, but also a wise financial decision.
