The Chopard story is an ode to family tradition and a relentless passion for excellence. Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his manufacture in the small Swiss village of Sonvilier in 1860. In 1963, the founder's grandson, Paul-André Chopard, sold the family business to Karl Scheufele, a descendant of a German dynasty of jewellers and watchmakers. This iconic collection was created in 1976 when designer Ronald Kurowskiobserved waterfall drops sparkling in the sun. He was fascinated by the way the free-falling water droplets reflected the sun's rays and decided to bring this effect to the world of jewellery.
